Parke County Weather may filter, combine, shorten, deduplicate, sort, rank, color-code, map, or play sounds from source data. Unless an individual product states otherwise, status colors, thresholds, trend indicators, summaries, inferred impacts, and audio notifications are Parke County Weather presentation aids. They are not official provider-issued categories, forecasts, warnings, or guarantees. SPC-style colors used for hazards other than official SPC outlooks do not make those displays SPC products. Always review the complete linked bulletin or source page before taking action.
HRRR, RAP, HREF, NAM, GFS, GEFS, and NBM graphics are sourced from the NOAA/NWS/NCEP Model Analyses and Guidance (MAG) system. These computer-generated products are forecast guidance, not official National Weather Service forecasts or warnings. Model solutions may contain errors, differ from one another, and change between runs.
Parke County Weather may crop, resize, magnify, synchronize, or annotate MAG graphics for presentation, including side-by-side valid-time comparisons and location markers. Those presentation changes are created by Parke County Weather and are not official NOAA/NWS/NCEP products. See the NWS data-use and availability disclaimer.
Watches, warnings, advisories, forecasts, outlooks, radar, river, space-weather, and tropical products are redistributed from NOAA and National Weather Service services. Products may be corrected, updated, superseded, or cancelled, and the newest official product controls. Dashboard filtering, grouping, severity colors, summaries, rankings, and sounds are local presentation features and are not part of the official product. Dashboard sounds are not Emergency Alert System activations or a substitute for NOAA Weather Radio. Any “expected U.S. landfall” indicator is a Parke County Weather inference based on an official NHC forecast center track intersecting simplified state geometry; it is not an official NHC landfall forecast, and the official advisory and cone control. The national dashboard combines active NWS alerts with messages from the National and Pacific Tsunami Warning Centers through Tsunami.gov, and may condense, deduplicate, sort, or color-code those messages. Always follow the newest official bulletin and instructions from local authorities. Initial earthquake locations, depths, magnitudes, and tsunami assessments are preliminary and may be revised. An information statement indicating little or no threat may be upgraded if warranted. Earthquake information is credited to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); an earthquake-feed item by itself is not a tsunami determination, and USGS does not issue tsunami warnings. Interactive basemaps use © OpenStreetMap contributors. Radar mosaics are served by the Iowa Environmental Mesonet (IEM) using NWS radar data. Simplified state geometry used in national tropical displays is derived from U.S. Census Bureau TIGER/Line data and is not a legal or jurisdictional boundary description. Basemaps, radar pixels, boundaries, warning polygons, forecast tracks, and location markers may be delayed or imperfectly aligned; official alert or advisory text controls. Attribution shown directly on a map remains part of that display.
Local weather readings are obtained through a WeatherLink-connected station. Nearby and national precipitation reports may come from the volunteer Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS). Unless otherwise noted, CoCoRaHS data are available under CC BY 3.0. Parke County Weather may select or derive a highest reported CONUS daily amount from volunteer reports; that selection is a Parke County Weather calculation, not a CoCoRaHS product. Sensor exposure, equipment, communications, observation times, late reports, and quality-control revisions can produce missing or changed values. CoCoRaHS data are provided “as is.”
Weather data provided by OpenWeather. Lightning information may be delayed, incomplete, or imprecise and is not an official warning service. Do not assume lightning is absent merely because no detection is displayed; follow NWS and local lightning-safety guidance.
Air-quality observations are provided by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) and the U.S. EPA AirNow program. AirNow observations are preliminary, not fully verified or validated, subject to change, and not for regulatory use. Official regulatory data should be obtained from the EPA Air Quality System (AQS). Parke County Weather may temporarily display a clearly aged cached pollutant result during a brief data gap and may compare a point observation with preliminary county contour estimates. Those continuity and comparison features are local transformations, not AirNow advisories; review the displayed observation and source times.
Drought classifications and county statistics come from the U.S. Drought Monitor. Local outage totals are compiled from public Duke Energy and Parke County REMC information. Provider update schedules, geographic filtering, aggregation, and service-territory differences may cause displayed totals to lag or differ from utility records. Colors, thresholds, and trend indicators are Parke County Weather summaries. Consult the serving utility for confirmation, electrical-safety information, and restoration estimates. If a national outage display is enabled, its totals are obtained from MassOutage under CC BY 4.0; the MassOutage source credit and license must remain with that display.
Road events, travel advisories, and selected traffic-camera snapshots are provided through 511IN and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). Images may be delayed, unavailable, or different from current roadway conditions. Geographic filtering and summaries are Parke County Weather presentation features. Consult the official provider and use road or camera information only while safely stopped—not while driving.
Aircraft detections are based on signals received by local equipment. Reception range, terrain, equipment status, aircraft transponders, and filtering can produce incomplete or delayed results. The display is not an official or complete record and must not be used for navigation, aircraft separation, emergency response, or other operational decisions. Aircraft type, registration, operator, or model descriptions may contain information from the Mictronics Aircraft Database, made available under the Open Data Commons Attribution License (ODC-By) v1.0 and distributed through tar1090-db. Reference descriptions may be incomplete or outdated.
